Norse Navigation has won Fremtidens Verdiskaper 2026, an entrepreneurship competition for early-stage companies in Trondheim. We took first place and were also voted audience favourite, for a total of NOK 1.4 million from SpareBank 1 SMN, the competition's main organiser. The prize was presented at Næringsdriv in Trondheim.

The competition

Five finalists pitched to a jury and an audience of about 600 people: LGR Technologies, Norse Navigation, Bedrock Group, Beltr AI and Pengebalanse. 75 companies applied this year, up from 49 the year before. The competition is organised by SpareBank 1 SMN together with NTNU, Startup TRD, PIR, ProtoMore and T:Lab.

Where we are

In less than a year, Norse Navigation has gone from idea to a production-ready design, developed three product variants and completed extensive technical testing. We are now working towards certification, have started the type-approval process and are setting up our own production facility.

Our sensors give ships positioning that does not depend on trusting GPS alone, and that holds up against jamming and spoofing. Henrik Foss, CEO and founder, says the win gives the team energy and speeds up our plans. The prize money will go towards accelerating our growth and building up inventory.

Thank you to SpareBank 1 SMN, the jury and everyone who voted for us.
